Jean André LaTondresse is president and founder of JAL Architects Ltd.
Mr. LaTondresse served the firm of Schwarz/Weber Architects, Inc. from 1977 to 1993. There he developed and translated design concepts into documents for both presentation and construction. He gained extensive experience in the areas of conceptual design and creative problem solving, design development, product evaluation and application, construction cost estimating, construction document preparation, construction contract administration and construction observation.
Mr. LaTondresse has hands-on experience in wood frame construction and project design experience in masonry, steel frame, and poured, precast, and prestressed concrete construction. He is experienced in new construction, adaptive reuse, accessibility alteration of historically significant structures, additions and alterations to existing construction. Projects have ranged from commercial and industrial to parks and recreational to single and multi-family housing to churches.
Prior to founding JAL Architects Ltd., Mr. LaTondresse, with his family, lived for four years in Akademgorodok, Siberia, Russia and served as an international specialist with The Navigators, an international Christian discipleship organization. Responsibilities included learning the Russian language, leadership training, public speaking, mentoring, and developing a broad relationship base within which to live out the reality of the Christian life.
Since its founding in 1997, JAL Architects Ltd. has concentrated on single family residential design while continuing to serve municipal, commercial, and church clients with their design needs.
